ii. Reflection   
 

               When Ms. Thivilojana S. Perinpasingam,  my English Lecturer gave  the first assignment which is essay writing, I felt confuse about the format that I should write as the format of essay writing in secondary school and in university are quiet different.

                During the English lectures, I had learnt on how to write a pre-writing before start to write an essay which are clustering or mind-mapping, free- writing, make a list, preparing a scratch outline and by questioning the 5H 1W (What? Where? When? Which? Who? and How?) Due to this techniques, I found that I was prefer to do mind-mapping with questioning as I can generate my ideas with transitional words and it also important as I can reduce my grammar mistakes. Besides, I have also taught to write an essay with thesis statement where it was the keywords to let others know the main point of the title in first paragraph; while there are three body paragraph which each content topic sentences followed by general ideas and specific ideas. 

               There are three types of essay for the first assignment where consisted of process essay,cause and effect essay and compare and contrast essay. The topic I have chosen was the compare and contrast essay with its title "comparison between two cities you visited". The cities I chose to compare were Kuala Lumpur, the place I continued my  studies and Alor Setar, Kedah which is my hometown's capital city. From the essay writing, I have learnt on how to use different view of observation between this two cities and I have wrote  my own opinions to this two cities. Moreover, I have also realized that the important of English in my studies and my future occupation as an architect.
