TAN ZI CIN'S E-PORTFOLIO
The aim of this second assignment is to help us to understand and interpret the chosen movies genre either sci-fi or romantic comedies based on any two movies. Besides, we had to understand the concept of a movie genre and communicate the relevent ideas in a clear, logical and approprate academic English. Also, we had to cite references according to the APA citation method accurately and effectively. In the end of this assignment, I had learnt on the skills of listening and research on the movies to understand the setting and the background. Moreover, I had learnt on the skills to citate the sources and references by using APA referencing style and proper format to write an contrast essay with the points either 'one side at a time' or 'point by point'.

For this assignment, I chose science fiction as genre movie I wrote for contrast essay based on Avatar and Journey to The Center of The Earth. Although both were my favourite movies which released at year 2008 and year 2009, I had watched them again to understand more about their elements and synopsis to produce a well-developed and well-organized contrast essay. The topics that I had compared in both movies were storyline, location of story and the characteristics of main character. The reasons I compared these topics were because their story were came from different world: one is on Earth while another on is on other planet called Pandora and both of them were the explorer to the unknown world. Besides, I had done the research on the concept of sci-fi movie and cited the references according to APA citation into essay. Last but not least, I learnt on the skills to find out the genre of a movie and understand the storyline besides of watching the movie. I really enjoyed doing this assignment as I can watch the movies besides of doing assignment.
