EFFECTIVE PUBLIC COMMUNICATION (FCOM 0102)

The Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) of the class test is to understand and read through the topics on Effective Public Communication concepts from Chapter 1 to 5 in 'Human Communication' text book by Pearson et al. and Chapter 6 on Conflict and Negotiation from 'Human Communication' by Tubbs and Moss. Besides, we had to write a short essay based on any one of the movies and video clips: ' The Joy Luck Club', ' Bridget Jones Diary', 'Listen, Listen, Listen', 'The Secrets Of Body Language', and 'Negotiation by William Mury. This test was on 11th week of semester 2(10th October 2013, Thursday). It was held in LT 8 from 7p.m. to 9p.m..

After doing this test, I realized the important on apply the concepts learnt in class and study the notes given by our lecturer, Mr Woon, which can help me to understand the topics better on what I have learnt in the text book. Honestly, this test was become easier for me as it was an open book test and the questions were related with what I have read before the test. However, the difficult part is the short essay part which I had to chose the question carefully and tried to recall the scene of movies I chose and think the concepts related to the movie. Even the result was not very good in essay part, I had realized the important in paying attention to the concepts and chapters taught in class where I could done better than before if I had more focus in class.
