In the subject of Introduction to Business, I have learnt a lot on basics and theories to starting a business. First of all, in the first assignment which was the presentation about business ethics in Rare Earth Company, I was learnt to be aware of the changing of environment due to this business ethics in mining activity. Honestly, this was the first time I in touch with the issues of Rare Earth mining and I just only realized the dangerous of this mining activity to human kind and environment as I had ignored this issues even it was happened in my country. However, it was never too late when my group chose this topic and I had taken note on social responsibility to oppose the way they dispose the waste of mining in our country.

 

    In the next assignment which was organizational chart, I learnt the different types of organizational charts like functional structure, divisional structure and staff and line structure. Each structure had its function depends on the size of business. This knowledge in organizing the company is very important to make sure the business can run in long or short period. Also, this skill in planning the organization chart was benefit for me if I want to start a business in future.

 

    On the other hand in third assignment which was my favourite part, the role play. For this assignment, there are 12 in a group and each group had given different scenes to act with different topic and our group was the class scene with the concept of Work Attitudes. This assignment had giving me a lots of fun as I can learn the theories with alternative ways such as acting, make me understood more on what was the concepts about instead of lecture in class.

 

     Lastly is the FNBE Charity Drive Event and I realized that starting a business is not easy where I have to earn experiences from other people to gain the knowledge on doing a business. This thought was came up during this final project when me and my group doing the sales in charity drive event and it is a hard time for us to earn RM2000 in a week. At that moment, I knew that planning is very important to reach the goal in a short time as I have learnt this theory from Business subject. However, I was glad that my group members were willing to work together to pass this tough moment and the spirit of teamwork make us to reach the target. Also, the event had reminded me to be conscious in taking my steps for strategies and tactics in order to succeed in future.

 

      In overall, I have learnt a lot about the way in doing a business even it was just the basics. In this business module, every assignments and projects were new experiences for me and I was really enjoyed the easy and hard time during the process of learning especially the final project. I was glad that I had took this module and it had taught me a lot on what business was, become an advantage for me if I want to start a business in my future.
